We offer a free call back service to discuss whether we are the right team for you. All new children to our team must have an initial assessment before we can offer regular therapy.
Our focus is to encourage your child’s participation in everyday activities. Your child and you will play an active part in setting goals as children are most motivated to work towards goals they want to achieve.
Our initial assessments are completed within your home by either our occupational therapist (OT) and/or physiotherapist (PT).
We will clinically examine your child or baby assessing their muscle tone and range of movement. We will observe their movements and neurobehaviours (vision, hearing, attention, interaction and behavioural cues) during play and age appropriate daily activities.
When appropriate we may use standardised assessments:
Our initial assessments are charged depending on the needs of your baby or child. This includes time spent with the child, discussion with parent or carer and a summary report with recommendations.
Follow up appointments / ongoing therapy
Our follow up appointments can be completed at home or your child’s nursery or school. We offer adhoc follow ups or regular therapy sessions which are charged at an hourly rate.
Specialist therapy blocks
Modified constraint induced movement (mCIMT) and Bimanual Therapy are the highest quality and most researched approaches for babies and children presenting with a one sided neglect/ weakness or a diagnosis of unilateral cerebral palsy (hemiplegia).
mCIMT: We offer this approach as a block of sessions. Our sessions use fun play based activities to encourage use of your child’s affected hand. Your baby/child will wear a glove over their dominant hand during sessions.
The block includes once weekly home based treatment session (60 minutes) for 8 weeks. Parents are encouraged to implement a home based program for the duration of the block.
Bimanual therapy: We offer this approach as a block of sessions. This approach targets the development of specific hand skills and motor planning abilities using repetitive practice of fun play based bimanual activities. The block includes the provision of individualised, once weekly home based treatment sessions of 60 minutes for 8 weeks. Parents are encouraged to implement a home based program for 30 minutes per day.
Our Proactive Tots workshops are designed to support you practically with your baby’s early development at different milestones and provide you with advice on how to promote their next developmental steps. We offer: Nurturing newborn (0- 3 months), On the move (4 months- sitting) and Rising stars (Sitting to standing) workshops.
We are passionate about babies learning new skills in a nurturing and enjoyable way. These workshops are offered to small groups or on a one to one basis in the comfort of your own home.
Our prices vary depending on the needs of your child so contact us for individual pricing. Travel is charged from the therapist's home postcode, but is free within 30 minutes of this postcode. Charges apply for missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
